History

TPC Scottsdale's Champions Course was revamped and reopened in 2007 by architect Randy Heckenkemper on the site of the former Desert Course, which had been part of the TPC Scottsdale complex since the mid-1980s. The redesigned layout flows seamlessly through the naturally rugged desert terrain, meandering between natural ravines, dry washes, and picturesque Sonoran foothills of the McDowell Mountains. The course serves as the companion layout to the world-famous Stadium Course, offering members and resort guests a distinct playing experience that emphasizes desert strategy and natural landscape integration over the engineered spectator mounds of its neighbor. With strategic bunkering and panoramic mountain views on nearly every hole, the Champions Course provides a visually spectacular and tactically demanding desert golf experience within the same Scottsdale campus.
