History

Sahalee Country Club east of Seattle, designed by Ted Robinson and opened in 1969 amid the towering Douglas firs and cedars of the Sammamish plateau, has a legendary reputation for its intimate cathedral-like corridors and the relentless claustrophobia it creates for championship competitors. Its name means High Heavenly Ground in the Chinook language, and the dense old-growth forest makes it feel perpetually dramatic. The narrowest corridors on any U.S. Open venue sent scores soaring at the 1998 PGA Championship, won by Vijay Singh.

Signature Hole
