Pebble Beach Golf Links
History
Pebble Beach Golf Links, opened in 1919 on the Monterey Peninsula's rocky coastline, is the most celebrated public-access course in America and regularly called the most beautiful 18 holes on earth. Designed by amateur golfers Jack Neville and Douglas Grant and later refined by H. Chandler Egan, it follows the rugged cliffs of Stillwater Cove with six oceanfront holes that rank among the most dramatic in golf. The par-3 7th over the Pacific and the 18th's seaside finishing hole are icons. Pebble Beach has hosted six U.S. Opens and Jack Nicklaus's defining 1972 U.S. Open victory among countless other memorable championships.
