History

TPC Craig Ranch was designed by legendary PGA Tour champion and architect Tom Weiskopf and opened in 2002 within the master-planned Craig Ranch community in McKinney, Texas, north of Dallas. The par-71, 7,414-yard championship layout is known for its strategic design philosophy — Weiskopf demanded precision over power, weaving the course through a gated wellness community with pristine Zoysia fairways and demanding Bent Grass greens. The course's thoughtful routing provides significant elevation changes unusual for the North Texas landscape, creating visually memorable holes and a variety of shot-making challenges. TPC Craig Ranch became a PGA Tour host venue with the Byron Nelson Championship relocating to the property in 2021, rebranded as the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. The course underwent further modifications ahead of its hosting duties to accommodate tour players and stadium galleries, cementing its status as one of Texas's premier tournament venues.
