TPC San Antonio (Canyons Course)
History
TPC San Antonio's Canyons Course was designed by Pete Dye in consultation with PGA Tour veteran Bruce Lietzke and opened concurrently with the Oaks Course in January 2010. Built within the same expansive Hill Country campus adjacent to the JW Marriott San Antonio resort, the Canyons Course offers a distinctly different personality from its Greg Norman–designed sibling. Dye's layout is primarily tree-lined and plays predominantly north of the resort center, threading through the natural ravines and cedar-juniper corridors that give the course its name. The Canyons Course has a more intimate, parkland feel compared to the broader, more open character of the Oaks Course, with Dye's characteristic undulating greens, creative bunker shapes, and strategic use of natural creek drainages. It has hosted the Champions Tour's AT&T Championship and serves as a key resort amenity for JW Marriott guests and TPC members.
