Erin Hills Golf Course
History
Erin Hills Golf Course, designed by Michael Hurdzan, Dana Fry, and Ron Whitten and opened in 2006 in rural Waukesha County, Wisconsin, is the most significant public-access course built in America in the 21st century. Set on 650 acres of glacially-sculpted Wisconsin farmland, the course features dramatic elevation changes of over 200 feet, fescue rough, and a sweeping routing of grandeur recalling Scottish and Irish links. It hosted the 2017 U.S. Open — the first in Wisconsin — where Brooks Koepka won with a record-tying score of -16. The course is open to public play, making it among the most accessible top-100 venues.
