Milwaukee Country Club
History
Milwaukee Country Club in River Hills, designed by H.S. Colt and C.H. Alison and opened in 1929 on glacially-shaped terrain north of Milwaukee, is the finest British-designed classic course in the Midwest. Colt and Alison created a course of exceptional strategic variety, with their characteristic crossing of strategic thought lines across each hole. The course's bold cross-bunkers, angled fairways, and Colt's trademark subtly contoured greens create a sophisticated test that rewards intelligent play over raw power. Its understated excellence and historical integrity make it one of the most admired classic courses in the American heartland.
