History

Harbour Town Golf Links, Pete Dye's revolutionary 1969 design on Hilton Head Island with consultation from Jack Nicklaus, fundamentally changed American course design. Dye created a narrow, precise, target-style course with small greens, railroad tie bunkers, and water hazards demanding accurate thinking-man's golf. The PGA Tour's RBC Heritage has been played here annually since 1969. The iconic red-and-white candy-striped lighthouse at the 18th is the most recognizable backdrop in PGA Tour golf and one of the most photographed images in the sport.
