History
Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, designed by Donald Ross and opened in 1919, is one of the Midwest's most historic championship venues. The club is famous for welcoming professional caddies to the clubhouse during the 1920 U.S. Open — a revolutionary act at the time — for which the pros gifted the club with an ornate grandfather clock. Bobby Jones declared it the finest course in America in 1920. It has hosted four U.S. Opens and two PGA Championships. Ross revised the course, and A.W. Tillinghast made further modifications for the 1931 U.S. Open.
