History
Plainfield Country Club in central New Jersey, designed by Donald Ross in 1921, is among the finest examples of Ross's parkland golf on the East Coast. Rolling hills, mature hardwood forests, and a creek crossing multiple fairways create a varied and visually beautiful layout. Ross's trademark crowned and contoured greens remain intact, and the course's par-72 challenge demands creativity and shot-making precision rather than mere power. Plainfield hosted two U.S. Amateurs and is consistently regarded as one of New Jersey's top three courses.
Signature Hole
10th hole, par 4, 452 yards — a long sweeping dogleg requiring a demanding second shot across a hidden creek
