History
Somerset Hills Country Club in the Bernardsville hills of New Jersey, designed by A.W. Tillinghast in 1918, is among his most intimate and thoughtful works. Tillinghast used the natural terrain with unusual restraint, following the contours of a beautiful glacially-formed valley to create a routing that feels organic and timeless. Its par-70 layout uses varied hole types and Tillinghast's trademark bold bunkering to create a course where local knowledge and precision matter enormously. Hosted the 2003 Walker Cup and the 1996 U.S. Women's Amateur, cementing its status as a worthy venue for elite amateur competition.
