History
East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, where Bobby Jones learned to play golf, is one of the most historically significant courses in American golf. Donald Ross reworked the layout in 1914, and Jones honed his game to near perfection here as a child and young man. The club fell into disrepair in the 1990s before a sweeping philanthropic revival initiated by Tom Cousins restored both the course and the surrounding neighborhood. Rees Jones renovated the course in 1994, and East Lake now annually hosts the Tour Championship — the PGA Tour's season-ending FedEx Cup finale.
