History
Southern Hills Country Club, designed by Perry Maxwell and opened in 1936 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is the premier championship course in the American heartland. Maxwell utilized the rolling terrain to create a course of strategic brilliance, with creek crossings, mature trees, and quick greens defending a demanding par-70 routing. It has hosted four PGA Championships and four U.S. Opens, including Tiger Woods' 2007 U.S. Open victory — his 12th major — and Justin Thomas's dramatic 2022 PGA Championship victory in a Monday playoff over Will Zalatoris.
Signature Hole
12th hole, par 4, 458 yards — a long creek-crossing dogleg considered one of the most demanding par-4s in championship golf
