History

The Kittansett Club in Marion on Buzzards Bay is one of the few true links courses in America, its terrain and character derived directly from the windswept glacial plain between the Atlantic and the bay. Designed by William Flynn and Frederic Hood in 1922, the first three holes play along the bay shore with unobstructed Atlantic views, before turning inland through low-lying fairways of firm fast-playing turf. The wind is constant and directional change makes every round a new test. Kittansett hosted the 1953 Walker Cup and regularly appears in lists of America's most authentic links experiences.
