History

Myopia Hunt Club north of Boston, one of America's oldest courses, hosted four consecutive U.S. Opens from 1898 to 1908 and is the oldest U.S. Open venue still in existence. Its short layout, routed over rolling drumlin terrain with massive pitch-and-roll greens, plays far harder than its yardage suggests. Gil Hanse's 2013 restoration recaptured the original's bold humpbacked green contours and sod-wall bunkers, earning the course immediate re-entry into major ranking lists. The ancient clubhouse and horse-country ambience make a visit feel like a step back into Victorian New England.

Signature Hole

4th hole, par 3, 174 yards — a classic short hole with a wildly heaving green that will accept only perfectly struck shots
