History

Boston Golf Club in Hingham, Gil Hanse's 2006 debut course on the South Shore of Massachusetts, launched one of the most successful design careers in modern golf. Hanse found a spectacular glacial site with dramatic bedrock outcroppings, glacial boulders, and rolling terrain near the Massachusetts coast. His routing navigates these natural features with seamless creativity, creating a course of bold visual character and strategic depth. Boston Golf Club is a testament to what thoughtful minimalist design can achieve, and its success established Hanse as one of the preeminent architects of the 21st century.
