History

Nanea Golf Club on the Kohala Coast of Hawaii's Big Island, designed by David McLay Kidd and opened in 2003, is consistently rated the finest private course in Hawaii and one of the most visually spectacular in America. Kidd used dramatic black lava flows, red volcanic earth, and the deep blue Pacific Ocean to create a course of extraordinary natural beauty. Maui grass fairways and volcanic-rock-framed hazards create a uniquely Hawaiian character. The course's 18 holes alternate between close Pacific views and lush interior corridors through the ancient lava landscape.
