History
Bandon Dunes, David McLay Kidd's debut course opened in 1999, transformed American golf travel by proving that golfers would flock to a remote walking-only resort on the Oregon coast if the course was extraordinary enough. Built on windswept bluffs above the Pacific Ocean, the course channels the spirit of Scottish links with firm fast turf, natural dune ridgelines, and ocean views from virtually every hole. It spawned a resort that now includes four ranked 18-hole courses, each of which has separately earned recognition among America's best.
Signature Hole
16th hole, par 4, 363 yards — a short but treacherous dogleg with a clifftop green hanging above the Pacific
