History

Old Macdonald, the fourth course at Bandon Dunes Resort designed by Tom Doak and Jim Urbina and opened in 2010, is a deliberate tribute to C.B. Macdonald's template hole philosophy. Doak assembled classic template types — Redan, Eden, Short, Biarritz, Alps, and others — across a dramatic hilltop site with sweeping Pacific Ocean views, creating what amounts to a museum of great strategic golf. The massive rollicking greens reward bump-and-run approaches and creative chip shots. Its bold old-fashioned aesthetic makes it stand apart from its companion courses at the resort.

Signature Hole

5th 'Leven', par 5, 604 yards — a massive triple-template par-5 with three distinct landing zones and a towering links-style green
