History
Aronimink Golf Club on Philadelphia's Main Line, Donald Ross's 1928 masterpiece, is considered one of his two or three finest works in America. The course sits on rolling Newtown Square terrain amid magnificent hardwood trees, with Ross's best green complexes on full display — boldly contoured, ingeniously angled, and brilliantly defended by sod-wall bunkers. The par-70 layout makes its demands felt in length and precision rather than brute strength. Aronimink hosted the 1962 PGA Championship and the 2010 BMW Championship. Ross himself called it his personal favorite among his designs.
