History
CapRock Ranch, designed by Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner and opened in 2022 in the Nebraska Sandhills near Valentine, made an immediate and remarkable debut on national rankings — entering Golf Digest's 2025 Top 100 and GOLF Magazine's World Top 100 simultaneously. Built on the same extraordinary sandhill terrain as Sand Hills Golf Club, Hanse and Wagner created a course of naturalistic brilliance with minimalist earth movement and maximum use of native sand ridges and blowouts. Its dramatic dune formations, wide fairways, and wildly contoured greens make it an instant candidate for the top echelon of modern American course design.
