Sebonack Golf Club

History

Sebonack Golf Club, opened in 2006 adjacent to the National Golf Links in Southampton, represents an extraordinary collaboration between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Doak — arguably the greatest living player-architect and the leading contemporary minimalist designer. The site, a narrow peninsula between Shinnecock Bay and Peconic Bay with ocean views to the south, may be the finest piece of raw land used for any course built in the 21st century. The course combines Nicklaus's bold strategic thinking with Doak's naturally flowing green complexes, creating a singular drama and beauty.
