History

Friar's Head Golf Club, opened in 2002 on Long Island's North Fork bluffs above Long Island Sound, is Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw's most celebrated East Coast work. The course occupies a former potato farm perched dramatically above the Sound, and the architects used the elevation changes and exposed topography to create a course channeling the spirit of great Scottish links. Wide fairways, deep bunkers, and greens that spill off the edges reward the full bag of shots. It entered Golf Digest's Top 100 almost immediately and has steadily climbed into the top 15, recognized as one of the finest courses built in the 21st century.

Signature Hole
