History
Piping Rock Club on Long Island's Gold Coast, designed by C.B. Macdonald and Seth Raynor in 1911, is a compact and brilliant example of the Macdonald-Raynor template hole philosophy. The course occupies just 145 acres but packs in a full strategic experience, with the Redan, Eden, Short, Alps, and Biarritz holes in superb form. Macdonald's routing on the gently rolling terrain achieves an extraordinary variety of challenges in a relatively small space. Its proximity to the National Golf Links makes it an essential stop on any Long Island pilgrimage.
Signature Hole
6th hole 'Eden', par 3, 182 yards — a classic Eden template with a stream fronting the green and mounds channeling errant shots
