History
Shoreacres Club, Seth Raynor's 1921 masterpiece on the Lake Michigan bluffs north of Chicago, is among the most dramatic and least-known great courses in America. Raynor dramatically utilized 100 feet of elevation change from the upland farmland to the lake shore, creating a routing of extraordinary variety and visual drama. His template holes appear here in some of their finest incarnations: the 5th Short, the 7th Biarritz, and the 14th Road Hole are among the best renditions in existence. The clubhouse perched at the bluff's edge offers panoramic Lake Michigan views.
